Let the children be free; encourage them; let them run outside when it is raining; let them remove their shoes when they find a puddle of water; and when the grass of the meadows is wet with dew, let them run on it and trample it with their bare feet; let them rest peacefully when a tree invites them to sleep beneath its shade; let them shout and laugh when the sun wakes them in the morning.
Forest School at Great Bardfield
Bardfield Montessori offers forest school sessions on site so that children can experience awe and wonder in a woodland environment. Children hugely benefit from playing and exploring at Forest School, reinforcing knowledge learnt within the classroom. You will soon notice your child’s increasing confidence and willingness to explore new challenges.
Outdoor learning is a huge part of the nursery provision at Bardfield Montessori. We have ensured that children of all ages have direct access into the large gardens throughout the day. The children have endless opportunities to spend their time outside exploring and interacting with a wide range of habitats and natural spaces. We link Forest School sessions into our time spent outdoors to enhance these opportunities further. Forest school provides a specialised learning approach that offers children regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands on learning experiences in a woodland.
Bardfield Montessori is set within beautiful farmland with animals and tractors. Children will help to care for chickens, goats and pigs. Interacting and learning about animals allows children to learn in a much deeper and richer way. Children build upon their communication and feelings of empathy.
